it drops a fixed overhead of about 20-30 seconds on a big context. if you're actually doing a lot of compiling, not much we can do there

FYI, We updated internally to 0.0.51 yesterday, everything is going swimmingly.

oh yeah, I was going to do that to take advantage of that scala_jar construct

I'm running the `migrate` tool, and I get the following warning:

I've also noticed that that warning persists even after I've fixed those values

The migration tool always logs all notes (that's a "note") for all items you have an entry for.  So the continued warning is - unfortunately - by design right now.

That said - do you need to be over-riding checkstyle?

So - a while back we ~killed the need for BUILD.tools

I keep my pants.ini / BUILD.tools looking like the one in the pants repo

so maybe it's just complaining that //:checkstyle doesn't exist

No - that warning is dumb about existence, notes are defined for a key - in this case [checkstyle] checkstyle - and if the key is present at all - you get the note

At any rate - that config can be killed, I'll send up an RB to trim back pants.ini which has crufts in this area
