    When I try to post an update I either get 
    "ERROR: There don't seem to be any diffs!"
    or I get a diff which only looks like the most recent changes and not the entire change set

    It probably simpler to provide a task to manually gc and or have pants fork a background task to check and trim based on age

    Added some pointers in that issue to an existing prune algorithm and the facility in a task's self.context for submitting background work.
