    Hello, is there a way to get the hash for a given target? We're building Python PEX targets and dumping them directly into Docker images; we'd like to tag these images with the hash of the inputs used to produce the PEX file, but I can't figure out how to get at that.

    thanks to @hundreds-father-404 for the work on the pants setup script several months ago -- created a new pants repo from the instructions at https://www.pantsbuild.org/install and it felt so much better than when there were weird errors upon install! incredibly important work that continues to help users!

    ok, i have a working example, but it requires a fix to pants :) will push a PR with this and tell you how to make it work before we make the next release

    section links to my example repo at https://github.com/cosmicexplorer/example-pants-python-dist -- we'll need to merge this and then release it before you can use it in your repo normally, but before then you can use the instructions to run pants from source after checking out that PR

    i can repro failure on upstream master - https://travis-ci.org/pantsbuild/pants/jobs/596398849#L1334 and when I run 
    /pants test tests/python/pants_test/backend/jvm/tasks/jvm_compile:dep_exports_integration

    We need a new name for our 
    pantsbuild.pants.testinfra
    wheel that we release to PyPI because we’re moving the code to 
    src/python/pants
    instead of 
    tests/python/pants_test
    . Thoughts or suggestions? Possible candidates:

    A general notice that CI is broken as tracked in https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/issues/8473. In short, I deleted what we thought was an unused fork of grpc in pantsbuild - it is used. Working on restoring / working around and will update here when this is fixed and CI runs can be expected to be green.
