    i tried digging through the documentation to find an answer to this, but i got nowhere: can pants be configured to ignore certain BUILD.* files? some NPM packages we use include a "BUILD.md" file that pants tries to parse if you ever do anything on ::

    Exclude targets that match these regexes. Useful with ::, to ignore broken
    BUILD files.

    spec_excludes
    in your pants.ini file

    i added exclude_target_regexp = [ './node_modules/. ] to the .ini and it seemed to solve the problem in a general enough manner

    I seem to remember it being reported and subsequently fixed, but even after upgrading I still see the same behavior
