    is there any way to exclude a goal or a particular task from another task? i want to run a custom python resolution step that depends on pyprep.interpreter but i never want to run pyprep.requirements

    Generally you only include, and you do this by requiring products. Only the task(s) supply those products you require are scheduled and run.

    i added 
    default_concurrency: PARALLEL_CLASSES_AND_METHODS
    and 
    use_experimental_runner: True
    , but i’m seeing all tests run in the same thread, e.g.

    my naive understanding is that the junit runner batches tests based on the concurrency level, and the output grouping there is based on that batching

    @wonderful-yak-59945 basically, yes. The full list of properties we group test targets by before running in serial groups is here: https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/blob/master/src/python/pants/backend/jvm/tasks/junit_run.py#L358-L364

    The junit runner's concurrency happens (if at all) within those groups.

    Eventually these top-level serial groups will be parallelized by pants as we complete migration to the new core engine.

    ah I see, is there any way I could implement a perforce.py and somehow load it? not super familiar with how things work yet only started using pants this week.

    definitely possible. I think it should implement similar interfaces to git? (not too familiar with perforce), and then find add that as a option to the consumers of scm in the code base
