I'm thinking through implementation of test result caching in pants and have some comments I'd love feedback on here: https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/issues/4587#issuecomment-308140510 Doesn't seem worth a full design doc, but any opinions or insights would be welcome.

Not a summary, but real-time info with [name]`.` for pass, [name][other] for skip or fail - pretty sure anyway

Lots of options really, none may be what you want.

./pants test.junit --open ....

for an html report including all the info you asked for.

When I am making pex file using Pants, does Pants provide the option of including a whl/egg file from the a local directory?

you can pass approximately

--python-repos-repos=+['<file://some/dir/>']

or hardcode that in your pants.ini to a fixed dir

it makes it more difficult to correlate between a dependency dag and the contents of build files. not sure it makes the dag itself less readable.
