yup, definitely requests is having a problem

is this an OS X Sierra issue? I'm on pants 1.2.0

(just doublechecked) requests has allow_redirects default to True, so that should be the case

the virtualenv pants uses looks the same between my two laptops, hmmm

no that sounds like a good suggestion, definitely seems like a networking problem

ivy has no trouble hitting this same server over https for some internally published JARs

but I realized it was ivy, and the pants caching code must be plain python

curl gives me back a 200 for the URL in the pants.ini now, but the cache access still errors with `requests.exceptions.ConnectionError: ('Connection aborted.', error(54, 'Connection reset by peer'))`
