    @fancy-queen-20734 yes the task I am wanting to run depends on the artifact produced by GoBinaryCreate. You mention registering the task after GoBinaryCreate, how would I do that? Right now I’m just installing onto the 
    binary
    goal inside 
    register.py
    in my custom pants-plugin:

    @victorious-potato-60449 I think if the new plugin is included after the go one, it’ll show up later. That said, if it depends on the artifact produced by GoBinaryCreate, maybe it could depend on the product 
    ‘exec_binary’
    instead. All GoBinaryCreate does, it appears, is copy the executables created for the binary targets into dist: https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/blob/master/contrib/go/src/python/pants/contrib/go/tasks/go_binary_create.py#L44

    we have a couple targets that take 1-5 minutes in 1.2.1 that took over 30 minutes before I got impatient and killed the build

    no, the scala code uses https://github.com/milessabin/shapeless, which uses a lot of macros

    is it possible to specify a custom markdown renderer? (looking at source i’m guessing no, but wondering if anyone has tips on the actual use-case) -- i’d like to hook into the

    @high-advantage-47550 I don’t think so, but feel free to submit a patch. Those are dark parts of the codebase that few if any of us know well, so you’re as qualified as anyone else to do so… 🙂
