we only recently migrated our repo to pants and reorganized the codebase, I'm fairly sure we've made some beginner mistakes, but this is promising

Thanks, we usually run our tests just using the `test` goal, but while trying to access the new pipeline I had tried `test.pytest2` (which then became `test2.pytest` after some digging in the pants source).  We'll start playing around with this in the next few days, I can share our feedback / results here if desired :smiley:

i added the dependency to the `./pants` wrapper in the bootstrap but that seems less than ideal :slightly_smiling_face:

You can add it to the `plugins` list in `pants.ini`

is it possible to run pants without a jvm?
