    ok, I’ll start with the most basic settings I can make. I agree about 
    changingPattern=”dev”
    . We use the multi-module pattern from ivy and it’s been problematic. It’s one of the reasons we want to try pants.

    some fun developments recently: by turning-on and then improving support for strict_deps (starting with 
    1.3.0dev7
    ) @full-kilobyte-93429 got first a 25% speedup for our java build, and then @billowy-beach-68498 got a 25% speedup for the whole build
