    manylinux isn’t currently supported in pex - there’s an open/near-term PR for it here: https://github.com/pantsbuild/pex/pull/316

    tho you can easily rename manylinux1_x86_64 -> linux_x86_64 and it’ll just work

    yeh we’re a bit behind on the whole “resolving directly against pypi” use cases, but catching up; manylinux and abis are the primary pain points at the moment

    you can always 
    pip wheel --no-cache-dir -f /tmp/my_wheels <req specs>
    and then 
    pex --no-pypi -f /tmp/my_wheels <req specs> -o /tmp/my.pex
    etc

    for targeting platforms and such
