    If you give it correct wheels, it will still say "oops no wheel" because it thinks it's not valid

    Yeah so that was the original rabbit hole, given that I know little about pip internals and less about pex internals but definitely saw a lot that probably is now upstream

    yeah, should be pretty straightforward to fixup the pypy abi stuff in line with what’s already there - we just haven’t had any contributors using pex+pypy. so if you’re in a position to implement and test/prove that out, it’d be awesome.
