don't know how easy it'd be because sbt files are free form and extra weird scala code, but atleast some way to covert the 3rdparty dependencies, which ought to be doable with sed

<@U054MQUPL> it affects pants in that i cannot run a built pants.pex file. it pulls in the old version of six from osx sierra. the instructions on the <http://pantsbuild.github.io|pantsbuild.github.io> page are not valid for sierra.

i also have a general question about publish and the generated pom - scala-lang is not included. i tried to explicitly set it as a 3rdparty dependency, but that doesn’t work. maybe it is because i’m using scala_library()?

<@U2V9EB9HP> : re adding publish extras: only the `publish.jar` task consumes them, so that makes sense, afaik

if you have some other task that wants to consume a product, you'd need to declare a dependency on the product

this is good info. my plugin does create the extras but they do not get published. let me rtfm and rephrase.

i'm using pants to build a pex and i'm wondering if there's a way to specify an environment variable

a package i'm using always looks for its configuration file either in the working directory or in the location specified by an environment variable

i'd rather not put the file in my project's top-level directory or change the working directory in code

does it look for the configuration during build time?

i added it as a resource but it really only needs to be there at runtime

so at runtime you can just do FOO=&lt;path&gt; ./myprogram.pex
