We have, for unfortunate historical reasons, a

target that a large chunk of the scala codebase depends on

Changing that target should not affect compile and tests, and it's incredibly expensive, so I don't want it to affect

Unfortunately, that target is changed frequently in trivial ways. But if I exclude it, it doesn't actually help anything, and I have no escape hatch

Well, it depends what features you actually care about. The ability to automatically relaunch the build on change is the key thing I know we lack. But luckily, that's not too, too far away from being possible.

Does anyone know what scopes are for those options? https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/blob/master/contrib/go/src/python/pants/contrib/go/subsystems/fetchers.py#L305-332. I tried to do ./pants resolve.go —help-advanced but didn’t see anything about them.
