yea. or set up the `excludes` files to catch test vs src code

thats actually prob fine we can prob consolidate the two config files they’re similar

if things are organized a particular way you might be able to make that work, but not as easy.

ie, in the test one exclude `src/main/*` and in the compile one exclude `src/test/*`

speaking of style, is it more common to do that style src/main/&lt;tree of all code&gt; src/test/&lt;tree of all test code&gt; vs. src/&lt;tree with each build/module having its src/main together&gt;

<@U0DJ6JX08>: Depending on how you're invoking pants, you might need to add `src/python` to pants' `PYTHONPATH`

Also, make sure you have the appropriate empty `__init__.py` files created

Heads up: today I am going to do the release and then a bunch of Jenkins hacking.  I'll probably be rambling a bit about my thoughts and processes in here.

There are deprecations for this release, but it's not clear to me how they should be removed

There is code that needs to be deleted, but it’s probably easier if I do that. For now just turn these checks into full errors?

Can you make sure to get rid of those deprecations before the next release?
