Can I force it to not use the system python when choosing chroots?

hm... john's comment on that ticket is interesting: applying this diff is sufficient to cause the hang:

at this point, we have our own external implementation of python test timeouts

would it be reasonable to resolve the above issue by just dropping that requirement?

I can't trigger this on OSX even after forcing 2.7.11

(note: not saying it will resolve the hang... just that it resolves the oddness that we have it pinned down)

Worth noting that this reproed running on Jenkins, on a fresh worker

e.g. if we could -vv the pytest run under repro

hmmm so I'm rerunning my shard and I'm seeing Travis bootstrapping some stuff

are you asking how you clear the travis cache?

I no longer have the option in the travisui it seems
