I’m assuming theres a bootstrapping problem there, right?  You cannot install from wheels before `wheel` library is installed?

Correct - I may be missing something, but - exactly

I assume some python 3.x will support this

If you didn’t already know,  this tool can help you migrate pants.ini to new versions:

although is it a known issue that it always warns about [jvm] debug_port

0.9.1 and 0.9.2 aren't TCompact wire compatible

And allowing both revs opens up the possibility that you get one or the other in apps built at the same time but with slightly different deps

Though I suppose it's okay if no one uses python TCompact in practice

There is a problem I’ve noticed parsing pants.ini data for zinc-java: <https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/issues/1891> that I’m looking into.

It’s not a showstopper for us, but I was worried it would break Twitter if they tried to upgrade

But I don’t think it should stop 0.0.40.  Twitter will release again if they want it.

<@U053HNE90>: It's not an issue for twitter/aurora - perhaps a release note to draw attention is in order, I can send out an RB for that or if you want to take that as part of changelog updating, have at it
