Honestly, I think we should give up on this lock printing thing

Try to fast-acquire the lock, if it doesn't work then print out that you're waiting on a lock and which lock it is

But under that, we use a real file lock in the normal way, not a broken pidlock even if it prints nice messages

Do we have a 1.0 launch checklist? And should we have a slack channel for that?

a checklist would be good. currently we have only github issues, many of which seem like they could probably slip

Heads up: <https://rbcommons.com/s/twitter/r/3618/> will deprecate `action=‘append’` AND `type=list_option` in favor of just `type=list`. Likewise, `type=dict_option` will become `type=dict`. Yell now if you anticipate issues.

It seemed silly to force people to import a magic symbol from pants.options when we know what they mean when they say list and dict.

QQ: Does anyone have action=‘store_false’ options in their custom pants plugins?

We have a longstanding bug with those: the default value if such a flag is not specified should of course be True (so that store_false can set it to False), but it isn’t.
