    Soooo under macOS, in a directory you have full perms in, you can't re-name a directory with 555 perms. You can re-name a file with 444 perms. Did anyone know about this? In Linux you can rename both, which is what I'd expect.

    @witty-crayon-22786 Working through invalidation headers for JVM, in Python-land we prepend a comment which is ignored by tools that eventually read the lockfiles. Our JVM lockfile format is custom, but currently is fed straight into a JSON parser. To support invalidation headers, I could either start stripping lines that begin with 
    #
    , or swap to a YAML parser (which will read JSON with comments). Preference here?

    Looks great! I had one small comment about mentioning support for codegen (protobuf, thrift, scrooge, and, it turns out, avro) as part of the feature set for JVM

    with generated targets, due to there being “too many” targets affected from a single source file, I’m playing with the idea to track the source lines of targets, so we can get more granular filtering for these targets. 🧵

    Not sure I see the connection between Pants and CD (but perhaps that’s not what you’re asking about either?) We’re using some custom in-house tooling to integrate with deploying to/with k8s clusters (and rancher/cattle, and ansible, and puppet, lots of legacy here..) Actively looking for new and better ways to do this.

    You’re right it’s not strictly pants thing, but more of a monorepo question. We are also eager to hear from other teams about how the code-review to CD process is for them
