    I received correspondence from bintray re our space usage as an OSS project, its big. The short of things is, do any of you see a problem with changing our native-engine releases from every new native-engine version on master to every new native-engine version on a tag? This basically means we'll only release native engine binaries for releases and only when the native engine is changed since the last release (tag event).

    I guess this really means, does Twitter use non-released versions? This change would break those w/o extra work.

    seems fine to me - we currently have to do extra work anyway to get cent5 compatible bins for our internal releases, so not a huge deal afaict

    btw finally figured out the local test failure i pasted above from last week, was to do with the test marked as 
    hermetic
    therefore it has 
    jvm-platform
    undefined and try to locate my local jdk, i happened to have a local jdk9 probably named in a non-standard way, that breaks the parsing

    @full-kilobyte-93429 : that one is potentially related to https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/issues/2969 as well. pickling probably remains the best option for now, but since not everything needs to be a

    only need to be pickleable/serializable if you're going to become-a-subject/have-a-Key
