I think probably wait, Stu did a release on Wednesday. Also we should probably try to convert 2.2.0 to an rc soon - I’m not sure how much more Pantsd and ctrl-c work @witty-crayon-22786 had wanted to land?

I do think we should be consuming Bytes support for Prost protobuf types so we can avoid one of the double copies in the remote store code

it looks like 2.2.0 probably has at least two blockers right now. they will hopefully both be cherry-pickable, so we probably don’t need to artificially delay cutting the 2.2.x branch, but i also don’t see a good reason to cut before people disappear for the holiday: https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/milestone/43
